It kinda comes from this article I read long ago in my english workbook. It was an exercise where you had to put the correct word in blank spaces, sorry if I commited a mistake while writing the article, I was unable to find the original one.

Eating in Britain

More than 500 chef, food writers and restaurant experts have compiled a list of the world´s top restaurants. Judges included the owner of the two of the most succesful restaurants in the Unites States. Their conclusion was that 14 of the world´s best restaurants are British.

The judges said that the wide variety of food, the number of Michelin-starred chefs and the quality and freshness of the produce have helped to make the world envious of Britain´s restaurants. This is quite a turnaround for a cuisine which was once thought of as fairly uninspired.

The interest in British cuisine has been given recognition in the US as well. America´s biggest food magazine, Gourmet, last month named London as the best place to eat in the world.
